Device and method to evaluate a fluid sample on a single-use multianalyte consumable

A method for performing multiple analyses of a fluid sample on a single-use diagnostic consumable, the method comprising:

• receiving a fluid sample on the single-use diagnostic consumable;
• analyzing the fluid sample in a first sensing region of the diagnostic consumable using at least one sensor within the first sensing region;
• flowing a portion of the fluid sample into a second sensing region of the diagnostic consumable using a fluid transport material on the diagnostic consumable;
• and
• optically analyzing the portion of the fluid sample in the second sensing region of the diagnostic consumable, at least a portion of the second sensing region being optically transparent to permit an optical assay of the portion of the fluid sample within the second sensing region.
