An aluminum cooling block assembly for heat dissipation is disclosed. The assembly includes an aluminum bottom plate having a planar thermal interface surface configured for direct thermal contact with a heat-generating component and a plurality of fins integrally formed with the bottom plate and extending into an internal fluid volume. An aluminum top plate is coupled to the aluminum bottom plate, with the top plate and bottom plate collectively defining the internal fluid volume. An elastomeric gasket is positioned between the top plate and the bottom plate to define a sealed perimeter of the internal fluid volume. A plurality of distributed mechanical fasteners extend through corresponding openings of the top plate and bottom plate and apply compressive force sufficient to seal the elastomeric gasket and maintain continuous thermal coupling during thermal cycling. First and second fluid fittings are coupled to the top plate and define an inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with the internal fluid volume. The fins are arranged to enhance convective heat exchange while controlling coolant pressure drop, and the planar thermal interface surface includes a polished finish configured to reduce thermal interface resistance.
