Window assembly fittings and method

Abstract

There is a window frame assembly for mounting a window relative to an opening in a supporting structure. It has an outer half-frame, an inner half-frame, and a glazing sheet that co-operate as an assembled full frame and window, such as may be a garage door window. The full frame has an accommodation for the glazing sheet. The glazing sheet has a span that is larger than a corresponding span of the opening in the supporting structure. The glazing sheet has a height and a width, and one or both of (a) the width; and (b) the height are greater than the height of the opening. The glazing footprint may overlap the opening in the supporting structure on all sides. The glazing sheet has accommodations formed in it to permit fasteners to pass through the glazing sheet. The glazing may be a polycarbonate sheet.
