Abstract
A method of operating an appliance includes receiving a start request for the appliance from a remote user interface device. The method also includes indicating an access code using a plurality of illuminable elements of a user interface of the appliance. The method further includes receiving a verification input at the remote user interface device. The verification input is based on the access code. The method also includes activating the appliance in response to the verification input received at the remote user interface device. Activating the appliance includes initiating an operation cycle of the appliance.
Claims19
A method of operating an appliance, the appliance comprising a user interface, the user interface comprising a plurality of illuminable elements, the method comprising:
- initiating a session with the appliance from a remote user interface device;
- receiving a control input for the appliance at the remote user interface device;
- displaying a facsimile of the user interface of the appliance on a display of the remote user interface device;
- indicating a first portion of an access code using a first illuminable element of the plurality of illuminable elements of the user interface of the appliance;
- receiving a first verification input at the remote user interface device, the first verification input comprising selecting an element on the facsimile of the user interface corresponding to the first illuminable element;
- indicating a second portion of the access code using a second illuminable element of the plurality of illuminable elements of the user interface of the appliance;
- receiving a second verification input at the remote user interface device, the second verification input comprising selecting an element on the facsimile of the user interface corresponding to the second illuminable element;
- and
- activating the appliance in response to the first verification input and the second verification input, wherein activating the appliance comprises initiating an operation cycle of the appliance according to the control input.
A method of operating an appliance, the method comprising:
- receiving a start request for the appliance from a remote user interface device;
- indicating an access code using a plurality of illuminable elements of a user interface of the appliance;
- receiving a verification input at the remote user interface device, the verification input based on the access code;
- and
- activating the appliance in response to the verification input received at the remote user interface device, wherein activating the appliance comprises initiating an operation cycle of the appliance.
