A rare earth-rich high-capacity vanadium (V)-based solid solution hydrogen storage alloy is provided. Composition of the rare earth-rich V-based solid solution hydrogen storage alloy is expressed by VxTiyCrzAmBn. x, y, z, m, and n satisfy the following conditions: 0.6≤x≤0.8, 0.067≤y≤0.133, 0.103≤z≤0.247, 0.01≤m≤0.04, and 5≤n≤7. A is selected from the group consisting of Iron (Fe), Aluminum (Al), Manganese (Mn), Molybdenum (Mo), Nickel (Ni), Cobalt (Co) and a combination thereof. B is rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Yttrium (Y), Cerium (Ce), Lanthanum (La) and a combination thereof. The rare earth element is added in an amount in excess based on an oxygen (O) content in a CrV master alloy. A method for preparing the rare earth-rich V-based solid solution hydrogen storage alloy is also provided.
A rare earth-rich vanadium (V)-based solid solution hydrogen storage alloy, wherein composition of the rare earth-rich V-based solid solution hydrogen storage alloy, in atomic percent, is expressed by a formula of (VxTiyCrzAm)100-nBn, x, y, z, m, and n satisfy the following conditions:
