Systems and methods for separating components of a processing fluid by an inline electro-coalescer (IEC) multi-treater are disclosed. In some embodiments, a processing fluid is received in a processing fluid line of an oil and gas well system, by an oil and gas processing plant, by an oil treatment plant, by an oil refinery, or by other facilities requiring (bulk) oil dehydration and/or oil desalting. Demulsifiers may be injected into the process fluid and the process fluid is provided into a processing chamber for treatment by a combination of providing heat to the process fluid, providing an electric field to the process fluid, and controlling the flow of the process fluid by the geometry of the processing chamber. Furthermore, the process fluid may flow into a separating chamber configured to separate components (e.g., oil and water) of the process fluid.
An inline electro-coalescer (IEC) multi-treater, comprising:
An inline electro-coalescer (IEC) multi-treater configured to coalesce components of a process fluid, the IEC multi-treater comprising:
A method of separating a component of a process fluid by an inline electro-coalescer (IEC) multi-treater, the method comprising:
