A cassette securement mechanism designed to prevent undesirable positional shifting of a cassette on a platform of a lifting mechanism during loading and unloading of the cassette. The securement mechanism includes a stopper assembly structured to be movable in a first direction responsive to contact with a first side of a cassette moving in the first direction. The securement mechanism also includes a catch arm operatively connected to the stopper assembly so as to rotate in a first rotational direction and into contact with a second side of the cassette opposite the first side, responsive to movement of the stopper assembly in the first direction. The securement mechanism applies forces along forward and rear sides of the cassette to immobilize the cassette when it resides on a platform of the lifting mechanism, thereby facilitating raising, lowering, loading and unloading of the cassette.
