Micromobility transit vehicle lock-to mechanism systems and methods

A computer-implemented method comprising, by a controller of a micromobility transit vehicle:

• receiving, via a wireless communications module of the micromobility transit vehicle, ride-status information associated with the micromobility transit vehicle, wherein the micromobility transit vehicle comprises a rear wheel and an immobilization lock associated with the rear wheel;
• determining, based at least in part on the ride-status information, that a ride associated with the micromobility transit vehicle has ended;
• and
• responsive to determining that the ride has ended, activating the immobilization lock to transition the immobilization lock from an unlocked state in which rotation of the rear wheel is permitted to a locked state in which the immobilization lock physically inhibits rotation of the rear wheel.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a controller of a micromobility transit vehicle, cause the controller to:

• receive, via a wireless communications module of the micromobility transit vehicle, ride-status information associated with the micromobility transit vehicle, wherein the micromobility transit vehicle comprises a rear wheel and an immobilization lock associated with the rear wheel;
• determine, based at least in part on the ride-status information, that a ride associated with the micromobility transit vehicle has ended;
• and
• responsive to determining that the ride has ended, activate the immobilization lock to transition the immobilization lock from an unlocked state in which rotation of the rear wheel is permitted to a locked state in which the immobilization lock physically inhibits rotation of the rear wheel.
