A method of laser manufacturing configured to reduce internal and external part imperfections arising from spatter and sloshing comprising a variety of elements including but not limited to a combination of high flux pulsed laser and low flux melting laser, selectively irradiating, and introducing a spatial flux. Placing a high flux pulse laser within the melting laser can ensure spatter free process. This is applicable to area printing and can be potentially applied to other powder bed fusion processes as well.
