Dispensing device

A dispensing device for dispensing viscous and non-viscous material from a cartridge, the dispensing device comprising:

• a base structure;
• a plunger configured to be moved translationally relative to the base structure;
• a driving mechanism configured to cause the dispensing movement of the plunger with respect to the base structure;
• and
• a driving member configured to transmit the driving force from the driving mechanism to the plunger,
• the driving mechanism comprising a circular driving spool coupled rotatably to the base structure,
• the driving member is bendable and a rear portion of the driving member is wrapped around the driving spool,
• the dispensing device is configured such that a rotational movement of the driving spool results in an unwrapping of the driving member from the driving spool and, thus, a translational axially directed force from winding the driving member onto the plunger resulting in a translational dispensing movement of the plunger with respect to the base structure,
• the driving spool comprises at least one of an inner circumferential surface, an outer circumferential surface and a side surface with gear teeth engaging an output gear of the driving mechanism to drive the driving spool, or
• the driving spool comprises at least one of an inner circumferential surface, an outer circumferential surface and a side surface with ratchet teeth engaged by ratchet or a pawl mechanism of the driving mechanism to drive the driving spool.
