The present disclosure discloses a hydrocyclone degassing device for degassing a liquid, comprising a degassing vessel in which, during operation, along an axis of rotation, an outer liquid cyclone and an inner gas cyclone form, wherein the degassing vessel comprises at least one inlet for the liquid, at least one outlet for the liquid, and at least one discharge opening for discharging gas. It is provided here that the hydrocyclone degassing device is configured such that, for discharging gas from the degassing vessel, the liquid flow from the degassing vessel is stopped and/or reduced so that the liquid level within the degassing vessel rises due to the liquid flowing in via the inlet.
