System and method for a bunionectomy via bone cutting and fixation of a metatarsal in the foot

A method that fixates a fractured bone, the method comprising:

• securing a fixation plate, comprising a dorsal portion with a concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• utilizing a plantar portion with a medial curve, connecting web configured diagonally with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a medial plantar surface of the fractured bone;
• and
• inserting a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion to retain the fractured bone.

A system that fixates corrected deformities having an intermetatarsal (IM) angle of a metatarsal, the system comprising:

• a bone cut fixation plate, comprising a dorsal portion with a concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• a plantar portion with a medial curve, connecting web configured diagonally with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the bone cut fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a medial plantar surface of the metatarsal;
• and
• a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion to retain a dorsal fragment and a plantar fragment of the metatarsal after correction of the intermetatarsal (IM) angle.

A method that fixates corrected deformities having an intermetatarsal (IM) angle of a metatarsal, the method comprising:

• securing a bone cut fixation plate, comprising a dorsal portion with a concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• utilizing a plantar portion with a medial curve, connecting web configured diagonally with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the bone cut fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a medial plantar surface of the metatarsal;
• and
• inserting a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion to retain a dorsal fragment and a plantar fragment of the metatarsal after correction of the intermetatarsal (IM) angle.

A system that fixates a fractured bone, the system comprising:

• a fixation plate, comprising a curved portion with a concave proximally and a linear portion with an angle distally,
• wherein the fixation plate is placed over a surface of the fractured bone;
• and
• a compression fastener placed proximally in the surface along an edge of the curved portion to retain the fractured bone.

A method that fixates a fractured bone, the method comprising:

• securing a fixation plate, comprising a curved portion with a concave proximally and a linear portion with an angle distally,
• wherein the fixation plate is placed over a surface of the fractured bone;
• and
• inserting a compression fastener placed proximally in the surface along an edge of the curved portion to retain the fractured bone.

A system that fixates corrected deformities having an intermetatarsal (IM) angle of a metatarsal, the system comprising:

• a bone cut fixation plate, comprising a curved portion with a concave proximally and a linear portion with an angle distally,
• wherein the bone cut fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface of the metatarsal;
• and
• a compression fastener placed proximally in the dorsal surface along an edge of the curved portion to retain a dorsal fragment and a plantar fragment of the metatarsal after correction of the intermetatarsal (IM) angle.

A method that fixates corrected deformities having an intermetatarsal (IM) angle of a metatarsal, the method comprising:

• securing a bone cut fixation plate, comprising a curved portion with a concave proximally and a linear portion with an angle distally,
• wherein the bone cut fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface of the metatarsal;
• and
• inserting a compression fastener placed proximally in the dorsal surface along an edge of the curved portion to retain a dorsal fragment and a plantar fragment of the metatarsal after correction of the intermetatarsal (IM) angle.

A system that fixates a fractured bone, the system comprising:

• a fixation plate, comprising an independent dorsal portion with an angle and concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• an independent plantar portion with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a plantar surface of the fractured bone;
• and
• a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion and/or the dorsal portion to retain the fractured bone.

A method that fixates a fractured bone, the method comprising:

• securing a fixation plate, comprising an independent dorsal portion with an angle and concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• utilizing an independent plantar portion with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a plantar surface of the fractured bone;
• and
• inserting a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion and/or the dorsal portion to retain the fractured bone.

A system that fixates corrected deformities having an intermetatarsal (IM) angle of a metatarsal, the system comprising:

• a bone cut fixation plate, comprising an independent dorsal portion with an angle and concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• an independent plantar portion with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the bone cut fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a plantar surface of the metatarsal;
• and
• a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion and/or the dorsal portion to retain a dorsal fragment and a plantar fragment of the metatarsal after correction of the intermetatarsal (IM) angle.

A method that fixates corrected deformities having an intermetatarsal (IM) angle of a metatarsal, the method comprising:

• securing a bone cut fixation plate, comprising an independent dorsal portion with an angle and concave proximally and a first bend distally, and
• utilizing an independent plantar portion with a bend proximally and a second bend distally,
• wherein the bone cut fixation plate is placed over a dorsal surface and a plantar surface of the metatarsal;
• and
• inserting a compression fastener placed proximally in the plantar portion and/or the dorsal portion to retain a dorsal fragment and a plantar fragment of the metatarsal after correction of the intermetatarsal (IM) angle.
