Systems and methods for recognizing objects in 3d representations of spaces

A server comprising:

• a memory storing a three-dimensional representation of a space;
• a communications interface;
• and
• a processor interconnected with the memory and the communications interface, the processor configured to:
• obtain, from an object detection engine trained to recognize a plurality of objects, an image representing the space and including an object of interest located in the space and a location of the object of interest within the image;
• convert, based on the location of the object within the image, a source location of an image capture device which captured the image and the three-dimensional representation, the location of the object to a three-dimensional location of the object within the three-dimensional representation of the space;
• and
• update the three-dimensional representation of the space to include an indication of the three-dimensional location of the object of interest.
