Abstract
Disclosed herein is a method for producing an imidazole-based compound by electrochemically catalyzing a reaction between a diamine-based compound and carbon dioxide. The method includes applying electrical energy to an electrode that is in contact with a liquid electrolyte and includes a catalyst comprising a substrate containing nitrogen-containing nickel and nanoparticulate copper bound to the substrate, using the diamine-based compound and carbon dioxide as reactants, thereby producing the imidazole-based compound.
Claims18
A method for producing an imidazole-based compound by electrochemically catalyzing a reaction between a diamine-based compound and carbon dioxide,
- the method comprising applying electrical energy to an electrode comprising a catalyst that is in contact with a liquid electrolyte, with the diamine-based compound and carbon dioxide used as reactants,
- wherein the catalyst comprises a substrate comprising a nitrogen-comprising nickel and nanoparticulate copper bound to the substrate.
A catalyst for C—N coupling between carbon dioxide and an amine group-containing compound, the catalyst comprising a substrate comprising nitrogen-comprising nickel and nanoparticulate copper bound to the substrate.
