Abstract
The disclosure relates generally to compositions and methods for making antifouling and electrically responsive coatings, and electrodes and sensors including said antifouling coatings, and uses thereof.

An electrode comprising:
- (i) a conductive substrate;
- and (ii) an antifouling coating layer on at least a portion of a surface of the conductive substrate, and wherein the antifouling coating layer comprises:
- a proteinaceous material, a conductive element, a redox mediator covalently linked to the proteinaceous material or the conductive element, and an oxidoreductase covalently linked to the proteinaceous material or the conductive element.
A composition comprising:
- a proteinaceous material, a conductive element, a redox mediator covalently linked to the proteinaceous material or the conductive element, and an oxidoreductase covalently linked to the proteinaceous material or the conductive element.
