Foilless Caps

A container assembly comprising:

• a container having:
• a shoulder,
• a neck extending from the shoulder and that includes threads, and
• a collar located on the neck;
• and
• a cap configured to fit to the container, the cap comprising:
• a base,
• an outer sidewall connected to the base,
• a tamper evident portion connected to the outer sidewall via tearable elements, and
• a tamper evident ring adapter fitted to the tamper evident portion, the tamper evident ring adapter comprising:
• an inner wall, and
• an outer wall that includes a horizontal retainment surface that is configured to retain the tamper evident portion within the tamper evident ring adapter,
• wherein the tamper evident ring adapter is configured to fit below the collar and above the shoulder of the container.

A cap for a container, comprising:

• a base;
• an outer sidewall connected to the base, wherein the outer sidewall and the base are dimensioned to accommodate a width of a shoulder of the container and a height of at least a neck and the shoulder of the container;
• a middle sidewall connected to the base and including at least one projection configured to diametrically interfere with and frictionally fit with a thread on the neck of the container to provide a non back-off mechanism;
• an inner sidewall connected to the base and angled downward toward the middle sidewall, wherein the middle sidewall and the inner sidewall form a groove configured to engage the neck of the container and provide a linerless plug seal for the container;
• and
• a tamper evident portion connected to the outer sidewall via tearable elements, wherein a tamper evident ring adapter is fitted to the tamper evident portion and is configured to fit below a collar of the container and above the shoulder of the container.
