A control system for electrical load management is disclosed. The control system is configured to determine operating condition(s) associated with charging unit(s). The operating condition(s) comprises a current electrical load, power availability, and operation time, a projected electrical load, and power availability, and/or a count and a current state of charge (SoC) of connected battery electric machine(s) (BEMs). The control system is also configured to assign a first target SoC or a second target SoC corresponding to the at least one battery electric machine based on the determined operating condition(s). The second target SoC is greater than the first target SoC by at least a predefined threshold. Further, the control system is configured to initiate charging of the BEM(s), via the charging unit(s), up to the first target SoC or the second target SoC, or discontinue the charging based on the assignment and the determined operating condition(s).
