Abstract

A powertrain assembly for an electric vehicle includes an engine, a first electric motor, a second electric motor and a transmission device, the engine being connected to the first electric motor via part of members of the transmission device to form a first powertrain, and the second electric motor being connected to a differential mechanism of the transmission device. The powertrain assembly further includes a controller shared by the first and second electric motors, the controller being configured to manage energy conversion of the first and second electric motors such that the first powertrain and/or the second electric motor operates in a specified operating mode. The first and second electric motors share a single controller for energy conversion management, so that the powertrain assembly has a simple overall structure, thereby facilitating an integrated and lightweight design.
