Abstract
A method of influencing particles or flow in a plurality of microfluidic channels or channel sections includes obtaining a fluidic flow in a plurality of microfluidic channels or microfluidic channel sections being parallel to each other and inducing acoustic resonance in the plurality of microfluidic channels or channel sections for influencing the flow or particles in the flow. Inducing acoustic resonance is obtained by applying to the plurality of microfluidic channels or channel sections a common acoustic signal having a frequency varying in a frequency range.

A method of influencing particles or flow in a plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections, the method comprising:
- obtaining a fluidic flow in a plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections,
- inducing acoustic resonance in the plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections for influencing the flow or particles in the flow, the acoustic resonance having an acoustic resonance frequency being predominantly determined by the dimensions of the different microfluidic channel or channel sections,
- wherein the plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections being parallel to each other and
- wherein said inducing acoustic resonance is obtained by applying to the plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections a common acoustic signal having a frequency varying in a frequency range.
A system for influencing particles or flow in a plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections, the system comprising:
- a microfluidic device having a plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections, the plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections being parallel to each other,
- a pumping means for providing a flow in the plurality of microfluidic channels or channel sections,
- an acoustic resonance inducing means for inducing acoustic resonance in the plurality of different microfluidic channels or channel sections for influencing the flow or particles in the flow,
- the acoustic resonance having an acoustic resonance frequency being predominantly determined by the dimensions of the different microfluidic channel or channel sections,
- wherein the acoustic resonance inducing means thereby is adapted for applying to the plurality of microfluidic channels or channel sections a common acoustic signal having a frequency varying in a frequency range.
