Abstract
A system, method and device are provided for use in golf putting training, and as golf putting training aids. The disclosed devices include particularly less-than-standard sized training balls, undersized practice balls, and smaller-than-standard diameter and/or miniature training/practice balls, constructed to have a similar weight and feel at impact as a standard-sized golf ball.
Claims24
A method of practicing putting, comprising:
- providing a practice putting ball having a smaller diameter than a regulated golf ball, wherein the practice putting ball is composed of a composite mixture of a solid material and a binding material, and is formed as a single, non-layered monolithic spherical structure, and a durable outer surface of the practice putting ball is smooth and non-dimpled;
- aiming the practice putting ball at a selected target;
- putting the practice putting ball with a putter along a first path toward the selected target with a striking face of the putter set at an approximate 90-degrees perpendicular to the first path;
- evaluating an outcome of the putting;
- adjusting the aiming based on the evaluated outcome of the putting;
- and
- repeating the putting, the evaluating and the adjusting until the practice putting ball hits the selected target.
A practice putting ball having a smaller diameter than a regulated golf ball, wherein the practice putting ball is composed of a composite mixture of a solid material and a binding material, and is formed as a single, non-layered monolithic spherical structure, and a durable outer surface of the practice putting ball is smooth and non-dimpled.
A method of forming a practice putting ball, comprising:
- admixing a solid material and a binding material into a composite mixture;
- forming the composite mixture of the solid material and the binding material into a single, non-layered monolithic spherical structure;
- and
- finishing an outer durable surface of the spherical structure so as to be smooth and non-dimpled.
