Blower for portable rpt device

A blower for an RPT therapy system, the blower comprising:

• a motor configured to drive a motor shaft, the motor shaft having a first end and a second end extending opposite the first end;
• a first housing including a first inlet;
• a first impeller connected to the first end of the motor shaft, the first impeller configured to be rotated by the motor shaft to deliver a first flow of air from the first inlet toward an outlet;
• a second housing including a second inlet;
• a second impeller connected to the second end of the motor shaft, the second impeller configured to be rotated by the motor shaft to deliver a second flow of air from the second inlet toward the outlet,
• wherein the first flow generated by the first impeller and the second flow generated by the second impeller are configured to flow opposite to one another along at least a portion of their flow path toward the outlet, and the first and second flows are combined at the outlet;
• wherein each of the first impeller and the second impeller comprises:
• an impeller wall having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface,
• a plurality of first blades extending from the first surface, and
• a plurality of second blades extending from the second surface in an opposite direction from the plurality of first blades;
• a first leading stator arranged downstream from the first impeller and within the first housing;
• and
• a second leading stator arranged downstream from the second impeller and within the second housing;
• wherein each of the first leading stator and the second leading stator comprises:
• a stator wall including an outer side and an inner side opposite the first surface, the outer side oriented to face respective ones of the first and second impellers and at least partially form a cavity,
• a plurality of third blades extending from the inner side, and
• at least one first slot extending at least partially through at least one of the plurality of third blades;
• wherein the cavity of the first leading stator is configured to at least partially receive the first impeller, and the cavity of the second leading stator is configured to at least partially receive the second impeller;
• and
• wherein the first flow generated by the first impeller is configured to pass through the at least one first slot of the first leading stator, and the second flow generated by the second impeller is configured to pass through the at least one first slot of the second leading stator.
