Abstract
An actuator for a surgical apparatus includes an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis and an actuation structure. The actuation structure is operably coupled to the body and extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The actuation structure is configured to sequentially translate proximally and distally along the longitudinal axis.
Claims20
An actuator for a surgical apparatus comprising:
- an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis;
- and
- an actuation structure operably coupled to the body and extending from a proximal end to a distal end, wherein the actuation structure is configured to sequentially translate proximally and distally along the longitudinal axis.
A suture passer comprising:
- an elongated probe extending from a distal end portion of the elongated body;
- and
- a jaw assembly comprising opposing jaws, wherein a first jaw of the opposing jaws is a configured to open and close relative to a second jaw in response to a first actuation of a sequential translation of an actuation structure.
A surgical apparatus comprising:
- an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis;
- an actuation structure operably coupled to the body and extending from a proximal end to a distal end, wherein the actuation structure is configured to sequentially translate in a first actuation and a second actuation, wherein the sequential transition extends a proximal translation and a distal translation along the longitudinal axis;
- and
- a suture passer comprising:
- an elongated probe extending from a distal end portion of the elongated body;
- a jaw assembly comprising opposing jaws;
- a passing needle;
- and
- wherein a first jaw of the opposing jaws is a configured to open and close relative to a second jaw in response to the first actuation, and the passing needle is configured to extend from the second jaw and through a passing aperture of the first jaw in response to the second actuation.
