Abstract

A tonometer for determining properties of eye, tonometer includes execution unit with impact means arranged to apply, when in use, impact on cornea of eye; at least one measuring unit, first confocal chromatic sensor; controller connected to execution unit, measuring unit and first confocal chromatic sensor, wherein controller is configured, when in use, to use: execution unit to apply impact on cornea of eye using impact means; at least one measuring unit to determine intraocular pressure value of eye; and first confocal chromatic sensor to measure corneal thickness value of eye, wherein at least one measuring unit is velocity measurement unit, for measuring velocity profile of impact means, during impact, and controller is further configured to use measured velocity profile to determine intraocular pressure value of eye.
