Flip-up potty seat

A potty-training seat configured for use with a regular, adult-sized toilet having a toilet lid and an adult toilet seat, the potty-training seat comprising:

• a mount configured to be removably attached to an underside of the toilet lid by one or more suction cups;
• a child seat ring defining an opening sized smaller than an opening of the adult toilet seat;
• a flexible connector extending between the mount and the child seat ring, the flexible connector coupling the child seat ring to the mount and permitting the child seat ring to move relative to the mount between:
• a lowered potty-training position in which the child seat ring is positioned over the adult toilet seat for use by a child, and a raised storage position in which the child seat ring is positioned adjacent the toilet lid;
• and
• a stabilizing portion disposed on an underside of the child seat ring and configured to engage the adult toilet seat when the child seat ring is in the lowered potty-training position to stabilize the child seat ring relative to the adult toilet seat.

A method of using a potty-training seat with a regular, adult-sized toilet having a toilet lid and an adult toilet seat, the method comprising:

• removably attaching a mount of the potty-training seat to an underside of the toilet lid by one or more suction cups;
• moving a child seat ring of the potty-training seat from a raised storage position adjacent the toilet lid to a lowered potty-training position over the adult toilet seat, the child seat ring defining an opening sized smaller than an opening of the adult toilet seat;
• engaging, with a stabilizing portion disposed on an underside of the child seat ring, the adult toilet seat to stabilize the child seat ring relative to the adult toilet seat;
• and
• supporting a child on the child seat ring while the child seat ring is in the lowered potty-training position.
