Component mounter and component mounting method

A component mounting method using a component mounter including a tray feeder, a board conveyance device, and a component transfer device, the component mounting method comprising:

• a setup step of disposing, on the tray feeder, a carrier member on which a strip-shaped carrier tape in which components to be mounted on a board are respectively accommodated in multiple cavities arranged in a row and a tray in which the components are respectively accommodated in multiple accommodation portions arranged in a grid pattern are placed;
• a first work step of, via the component transfer device, mounting, on a first board positioned at a predetermined work position by the board conveyance device, components accommodated in a second tray that accommodates components of a type different from the components accommodated in the tray without using the carrier member;
• and
• a second work step of, via the component transfer device, mounting, on a second board positioned at a predetermined work position by the board conveyance device, the components accommodated in the carrier member.

A component mounting method using a component mounter including a tape feeder, a board conveyance device, and a component transfer device, the component mounting method comprising:

• a setup step of disposing, on the component mounter, a carrier member on which a strip-shaped carrier tape in which components to be mounted on a board are respectively accommodated in multiple cavities arranged in a row and a tray in which the components are respectively accommodated in multiple accommodation portions arranged in a grid pattern are placed;
• a first work step of, via the component transfer device, mounting, on a first board positioned at a predetermined work position by the board conveyance device, components accommodated in a second carrier tape attached to the tape feeder without using the carrier member;
• and
• a second work step of, via the component transfer device, mounting, on a second board positioned at a predetermined work position by the board conveyance device, the components accommodated in the carrier member.
