Hearing aid having acceleration based discoverability

An electronic device configured for use with a hearing aid, the electronic comprising:

• a memory;
• interface circuitry configured to obtain first accelerometer data from a hearing aid;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• determine second accelerometer data from the electronic device;
• and
• determine, based on the first accelerometer data and the second accelerometer data, an acceleration parameter indicative of a difference between the first accelerometer data and the second accelerometer data;
• wherein in accordance with the acceleration parameter meeting a safety criterion, the electronic device is configured to:
• generate, by the processor, lost control data;
• and
• output, by the interface circuitry, the lost control data to the hearing aid;
• wherein the electronic device is further configured to:
• obtain, from the hearing aid by the interface circuitry, environmental data indicative of a sound environment around the hearing aid;
• and
• output, based on the environmental data, an environmental notification to on a display of the electronic device.

An electronic device configured for use with a hearing aid, the electronic comprising:

• a memory;
• interface circuitry configured to obtain first accelerometer data from a hearing aid;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• determine second accelerometer data from the electronic device;
• and
• determine, based on the first accelerometer data and the second accelerometer data, an acceleration parameter indicative of a difference between the first accelerometer data and the second accelerometer data;
• wherein in accordance with the acceleration parameter meeting a safety criterion, the electronic device is configured to:
• generate, by the processor, lost control data;
• and
• output, by the interface circuitry, the lost control data to the hearing aid;
• wherein the electronic device is further configured to:
• obtain, by the interface circuity, feedback data from the hearing aid;
• and
• in accordance with the feedback data being indicative of a user wearing the hearing aid, generate, by the processor, stop control data, and output, by the interface circuity, the stop control data to the hearing aid.
