Provisioning network energy management in a telecommunication system

A method comprising:

• receiving, from at least one network entity, one or more energy data associated with the at least one network entity;
• processing the one or more energy data to produce a level of energy efficiency associated with the at least one network entity;
• and
• performing, based on the level of energy efficiency, one or more operations for managing energy usage of the at least one network entity,
• wherein the method is implemented by an energy management function (EMF) for a telecommunication network.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon instructions for implementing an energy management function (EMF) for a telecommunication network, the instructions are executable by an apparatus to cause the apparatus to perform a method comprising:

• receiving, from at least one network entity, one or more energy data associated with the at least one network entity;
• processing the one or more energy data to produce a level of energy efficiency associated with the at least one network entity;
• and
• performing, based on the level of energy efficiency, one or more operations for managing energy usage of the at least one network entity.
