Abstract

A portable data communications apparatus and power platform are disclosed. A portable carrying case may house a router device configured to provide wide area network connectivity through at least one cellular gateway and local wireless network connectivity. An antenna system including at least one cellular antenna and/or a satellite communication antenna is operatively connected to the router device. A power system positioned within the case includes a power bank having a plurality of batteries electrically coupled in parallel and an electrical board including a power boost circuit configured to increase output wattage supplied to the satellite communication antenna, thereby enabling operation without a separate satellite-side router or power supply. The power platform may further provide power to external electronic devices through an output interface and may support transmission of both power and data through a single cable.
