Abstract
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to estimating a velocity of an object based on range rate measurements, angular measurements and one or more previously determined state estimates (e.g., previous velocity estimates) for the object. For example, an expected range rate for the object may be determined using an angular measurement and a previous velocity estimate of the object. The expected range rate may be compared with the range rate measurement to determine a velocity estimate for the object.
Claims20
A machine comprising:
- one or more systems-on-a-chip (SoCs) individually comprising one or more central processing units (CPUs), one or more graphics processing units (GPUs), and one or more hardware accelerators;
- and
- one or more sensors having fields of view or sensory fields external to the machine,
- wherein the machine performs one or more control operations based at least on a velocity estimate corresponding to an object and determined based at least on:
- a range rate measurement corresponding to a portion of the object;
- and
- an angle measurement corresponding to the portion of the object.

A system comprising:
- one or more central processing units (CPUs), one or more graphics processing units (GPUs), one or more hardware accelerators, and one or more sensors, wherein the system performs operations comprising:
- determining an expected range rate corresponding to at least a portion of an object, the expected range rate being determined based at least on an angle measurement corresponding to the at least portion of the object;
- and
- determining a state estimate corresponding to the object based at least on the expected range rate.
1 more element
A method comprising:
- determining an expected range rate corresponding to at least a portion of an object, the expected range rate being determined based at least on a previous velocity estimate corresponding to the object and an angle measurement corresponding to the at least portion of the object;
- and
- causing an autonomous or semi-autonomous machine to perform one or more control operations based at least on the expected range rate.
