A positional detector for a sheet having a perimeter edge is described. The positional detector includes a slider and a detection device provided with a detection member.

A positional detector for a sheet having a perimeter edge, the positional detector comprising:
- a slider;
- a detection device comprising a detection member,
- an angular positioning actuator;
- and
- a rotating table operatively connected to the angular positioning actuator, wherein:
- the detection member is mounted on the rotating table, and
- the detection member is selectively positionable angularly in a first position and a second position of contact with the perimeter edge at different work heights along a positioning axis transverse to a thickness of the sheet.

- a linear positioning actuator to which the detection device is connected,
