Abstract

Method, and machine (1), for folding sheets (F), the machine (1) comprising a linear transport system (2) comprising a linear fixed guide (3) defining a treatment path, and a plurality of support elements (4) slidingly engaging the fixed guide (3), wherein the linear transport system (2) is structured for moving each support element (4) of said plurality of support elements (4) slidingly along the fixed guide (3) independently from the remaining support elements (4), and wherein the method comprises the steps of: arranging a sheet (F) on holding onto the plurality of support elements (4); moving the plurality of support elements (4) along the treatment path; making one or more folds (P) on the sheet (F), each fold (P) being made by reciprocally approaching, along the treatment path, two respective support elements (4) directly consecutive.

Dependent claims

A method for folding sheets, said method comprising the steps of:

providing a linear transport system comprising a linear fixed guide defining a treatment path, and a plurality of support elements slidingly engaging said fixed guide wherein said linear transport system is structured for moving each support element of said plurality of support elements slidingly along said fixed guide independently from the remaining support elements of said plurality of support elements;
arranging a sheet on holding onto said plurality of support elements;
moving said plurality of support elements along said treatment path;
and
making one or more folds on said sheet, each fold being made by reciprocally approaching, along said treatment path, two respective support elements directly consecutive.
