Abstract

A device for gripping and transporting objects, for example containers, including a shaft, an arrangement which includes at least one carrier which is arranged in a manner secured against rotation on the shaft, wherein an axial position of the arrangement along the shaft can be adjusted, and at least one gripping apparatus arranged on the carrier. Each gripping apparatus includes a gripping arm pair for gripping one of the objects. The device includes an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the axial position of the arrangement along the shaft, the adjusting mechanism including a toothed rack formed on the shaft and a transmission shaft which is mounted in a rotatable manner in the arrangement and interacts with the toothed rack.
