The treatment device includes: a rotating drum 4 accommodating used sanitary goods, a water tank 3 housing the rotating drum, a water feeding pipe 10 supplying water to the water tank 3, and a drainage pipe 12 for discharging water from the water tank 3. In the treatment method for used sanitary goods, used sanitary goods and an individually packaged chemical having a chemical accommodated in a container are input into the rotating drum 4, and the rotating drum 4 is rotated to cause the container to break to let a chemical diffuse within the rotating drum.
