Abstract
Compositions for maintaining or improving oral health, and preventing or treating periodontal disease in a subject, and methods for using the same are provided. The composition contains cholecalciferol, at least one reversible cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor, and at least one irreversible COX inhibitor. The composition may also contain at least one TLR inhibitor and at least one broad spectrum antibiotic.
Claims20
A composition for maintaining or improving oral health, comprising:
- about 0.001 wt. % to about 1.0 wt. %, of cholecalciferol, based on a total weight of the composition;
- about 0.01 wt. % to about 15.0 wt. %, of at least one reversible COX inhibitor, based on a total weight of the composition;
- and
- about 0.01 wt. % to about 2.0 wt. %, of at least one irreversible COX inhibitor, based on a total weight of the composition.
