An aspect of the present invention relates to a medical-insert guide (1) including a cylindrical component (2). The cylindrical component (2) is configured to be indwelled in a body from a nose or a mouth to an inside of a gastrointestinal tract, and has an inner cavity into which a medical insert can be removably inserted. A portion (23) of the cylindrical component (2) positioned at least at a pharynx and an upper esophageal sphincter when the cylindrical component is indwelled in the body, and an insertion-side front end portion (24) of the cylindrical component (2) each have flexibility that allows the cross-sectional shape of the portion to be deformed into a flat shape by pharynx pressure or esophageal pressure when the cylindrical component is indwelled in the body, or each preliminarily have a flat cross-sectional shape, and each have kink resistance. Alternatively, across the whole length of the cylindrical component (2) in its longitudinal direction, the cylindrical component (2) has flexibility that allows its cross-sectional shape to be deformed into a flat shape by pharynx pressure or esophageal pressure when the cylindrical component is indwelled in the body, or preliminarily has a flat cross-sectional shape, and has kink resistance. It is preferable that the cylindrical component (2) has at least one high-kink-resistance region (2a), and the high-kink-resistance region (2a) extends across the whole length of the cylindrical component in the longitudinal direction, and is less likely to be subjected to compression deformation in the longitudinal direction than a region of the cylindrical component that is adjacent to the high-kink resistance region in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical component is likely to be subjected thereto.
