Autonomous golf vehicle system

An autonomous golf cart system comprising:

• a first golf cart including a prime mover and a steering system configured to facilitate autonomously driving the first golf cart along a path to a destination;
• and
• one or more processing circuits configured to:
• provide, to a second golf cart located in front of the first golf cart, a request to move in front of the second golf cart on the path;
• receive, from the second golf cart, an indication of whether the second golf cart has approved the request;
• determine, responsive to the second golf cart approving the request, a location to move in front of the second golf cart on the path;
• and
• operate the prime mover and the steering system to move the first golf cart in front of the second golf cart on the path at the location.

An autonomous golf cart system comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
• receive, from a second golf cart located behind a first golf cart, a request to move in front of the first golf cart on a path;
• determine whether the first golf cart is located in a passing zone;
• determine, responsive to the first golf cart being located in the passing zone of the path, based on sensor data from one or more sensors, whether there is an obstacle located within the passing zone;
• and
• indicate, to the second golf cart, responsive to the obstacle not being located with the passing zone, that the second golf cart is authorized to move in front of the first golf cart.
