Abstract
A hydrogen containment assembly has an outer container with an interior volume, an inner vessel received within the interior volume of the outer container, and a flame retardant received in the interior volume of the outer container. The inner vessel is adapted receive a hydrogen gas therein. The flame retardant is adapted to reduce the concentration of the hydrogen gas to less than 4% upon a breach of the inner vessel. The inner vessel is formed of a polymer-lined metal material. The flame retardant is a fluorocarbon liquid.
