Abstract
A clothes treating apparatus may include a tub, a drum provided inside the tub and configured to be rotatable, and a dryer configured to supply dry air to inside of the tub. The dryer may include a rotating frame, a fixed frame, and an elastocaloric material connecting the rotating frame to the fixed frame and configured to emit heat or absorb heat by rotating by the rotating frame.
Claims15
A clothes treating apparatus comprising:
- a tub;
- a drum provided inside the tub and configured to be rotatable;
- and
- a dryer configured to supply dry air to inside of the tub,
- wherein the dryer comprises:
- a rotating frame configured to, during a washing cycle, a rinsing cycle, and a dehydrating cycle, resist rotating and, during a drying cycle, rotate in conjunction with the drum;
- a fixed frame comprising a guide rail including a first section spaced apart from the rotating frame by a first distance and a second section spaced apart from the rotating frame by a second distance shorter than the first distance;
- and
- an elastocaloric material connecting the rotating frame to the fixed frame and configured to rotate along the guide rail by the rotating frame, wherein the elastocaloric material is configured to emit heat according to application of stress while the elastocaloric material corresponds to the first section, and absorb heat according to removal of the applied stress while the elastocaloric material corresponds to the second section.
