Clothing processing apparatus and control method of clothing processing apparatus

A laundry treating apparatus comprising:

• a cabinet having an opening at a front thereof;
• a door coupled to the cabinet to open and close the opening;
• a locker configured to lock the door to the cabinet;
• a tub arranged inside the cabinet to store water;
• a drum rotatably arranged inside the tub to accommodate laundry;
• a driver comprising:
• a motor coupled to the tub;
• and
• a rotation shaft coupled to the motor to rotate the drum;
• a control panel comprising:
• a power part configured to receive an input of a power command to supply power;
• a selection part configured to receive an input of a selection command to select one of courses;
• the display part configured to display weight information about the laundry;
• and
• an execution part configured to receive an input of an execution command to execute a course for processing of the laundry;
• and
• a controller configured to perform a dehydration cycle by rotating the drum at a speed greater than or equal to a dehydration speed, the dehydration speed causing the laundry to start to stick to an inner wall of the drum to integrally rotate with the drum,
• wherein:
• the driver is configured to rotate the drum while the locker unlocks the door when the power part receives the input;
• the display part is configured to display the weight information after the drum starts rotating;
• the execution part is configured to receive the input of the execution command while the display part displays the weight information after the drum starts rotating;
• and
• based on that the drum remains stopped after termination of the dehydration cycle, the controller is configured to:
• perform a laundry release cycle of rotating the drum at a first speed lower than the dehydration speed when at least a portion of the laundry is positioned above the rotation shaft;
• and
• skip the laundry release cycle and unlock the door when the laundry is positioned at or below a height of the rotation shaft.
