Abstract
The present disclosure relates to hydrogenated dicyclopentadiene based resin that comprises biobased materials, and thus, is environmentally friendly and simultaneously has excellent properties including heat resistance, tackifying/adhesion property, and the like, a preparation method thereof, and a composition for tackifier or adhesive comprising the same.

Hydrogenated dicyclopentadiene based resin obtained by polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising dicyclopentadiene and vegetable oil, and hydrogenation.
A method for preparing hydrogenated dicyclopentadiene based resin comprising steps of:
- subjecting a monomer mixture comprising dicyclopentadiene and vegetable oil to thermal polymerization to prepare polymerized dicyclopentadiene based resin;
- and
- subjecting the polymerized dicyclopentadiene based resin to hydrogenation.
