Reverse water gas shift catalysts comprising an alkali metal and alumina

Abstract

The reverse water-gas shift reaction catalysts comprising an alkali metal supported on alumina. Embodiments generally relate to catalysts for reverse water-gas shift (RWGS), methods for making the catalysts, and methods for using the catalysts in RWGS reactions. The disclosure generally relates to catalysts comprising at least one alkali metal on alumina (Al2O3), wherein the alumina in a phase selected from the group consisting of alpha-alumina (α-Al2O3) phase, theta-alumina (θ-Al2O3) phase, gamma-alumina (γ-Al2O3) phase, and any combination thereof. The catalysts are in a form of a plurality of particles having an average particle size of about 200 micrometers to about 500 micrometers.
