Abstract
Systems and methods for a convertible car seat in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment, a convertible car seat includes a recline mechanism with an inertia lock mechanism.

A car seat comprising:
- a recline mechanism;
- and
- an inertia lock mechanism,
- wherein the inertia lock mechanism interacts with the recline mechanism and wherein the inertia lock mechanism is designed to be in an unlocked position or in a locked position.
