Method and apparatus for burst dispersion of multiple distinct odors

A method of presenting a scent to a user, comprising:

• determining, by a control module, a scent to be presented according to a programmed schedule;
• positioning a scent reservoir associated with the determined scent in fluid communication with an isolation chamber;
• and
• heating the scent reservoir to release the scent into the isolation chamber while operating an airflow mechanism to expel the released scent toward the user.

A scent presentation system, comprising:

• a belt carrying a plurality of scent reservoirs, each scent reservoir associated with a respective odor;
• an isolation chamber selectively alienable with an individual scent reservoir on the belt;
• a positioning mechanism configured to index the belt such that a selected scent reservoir is placed in fluid communication with the isolation chamber while remaining scent reservoirs are isolated;
• a scent release mechanism configured to cause release of scent from the selected scent reservoir into the isolation chamber;
• an airflow mechanism configured to expel scent from the isolation chamber toward a user;
• one or more doors associated with the isolation chamber and movable between a closed configuration in which scent accumulates within the isolation chamber and an open configuration in which accumulated scent is expelled as a burst;
• and
• a control module configured to control belt positioning, operation of the scent release mechanism, movement of the one or more doors, and operation of the airflow mechanism according to a programmed scent presentation schedule.
