Methods and membranes are disclosed for healing one’s body wounds, such as surgical wounds that may result from Mohs micrographic surgery. One or more membranes comprising membrane materials may be adhered to skin proximal to the body wound. The membrane(s) may be placed such that any reinforcing fibers of the membrane material(s) are generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the body wound. The body wound may then be closed with sutures which may burrow into and out of the membrane material(s). There may be a connector which can increase and maintain tension between the membrane materials. After a period of time, such as at least 14 days, the sutures can be removed but the membrane(s) may remain on the skin. After another period of time has passed, the body wound may heal such that only a faint scar remains.
