Abstract
A knee joint protection device for athletic activities features an adjustable design with a structural brace and strap system. Designed to be positioned for below-the-knee wear, the device extends protection to include both the upper shin/tibial tuberosity region and areas slightly above the knee, including the patella. A removable padding mechanism allows customization of protective elements while extending product lifespan.
Claims18
A wearable device configured to protect a knee joint, comprising:
- a structural brace that comprises:
- a support panel having a padding mechanism located between lateral sides of the support panel,
- two attachment points connected to the support panel, and an anchor point arranged between the two attachment points;
- a strap system including a pair of straps comprising:
- an upper strap that has a strap end fixedly attached to one of the at least two attachment points on the lateral panel;
- a lower strap that has a strap end fixedly attached to another one of the at least two attachment points on the lateral panel;
- and
- a joined end that comprises an opposite end of the upper strap and an opposite end of the lower strap that are fixedly attached or integrally connected to each other, such that the upper strap and lower strap form an angle with a gap therebetween;
- and
- an anchorage arranged on the joined end and configured to operably attach to the anchor point on the lateral panel.

A wearable device configured to protect a knee joint, comprising:
- a structural brace that comprises:
- a support panel including a securing mechanism on a front side thereof,
- a lateral panel that has at least two attachment points arranged between a lateral side of the support panel and a lateral edge of the lateral panel, and an anchor point arranged between the at least two attachment points, and
- a padding mechanism removably connectable to the securing mechanism on the support panel;
- and
- a strap system comprising:
- an upper strap including a strap end fixedly attached to one of the at least two attachment points on the lateral panel;
- a lower strap including a strap end fixedly attached to another one of the at least two attachment points on the lateral panel;
- a joined end comprising an opposite end of the upper strap and an opposite end of the lower strap that are fixedly attached or integrally connected to each other, such that the upper strap and lower strap form an angle with a gap therebetween, and
- an anchorage arranged on the joined end and configured to operably attach to the anchor point on the lateral panel.
