Multi-stack, open track busway construction

A busway system, comprising:

• a plurality of stacks of busway segments, each stack comprising at least two busway segments arranged in a vertical stacked relationship;
• one or more mechanical joint blocks mechanically coupling adjacent busway segments within each stack of busway segments;
• and
• one or more stack joint packs positioned between longitudinally adjacent stacks of busway segments;
• wherein each stack joint pack is configured to electrically interconnect corresponding busway segments of the longitudinally adjacent stacks of busway segments.

A modular busway power distribution system, comprising:

• a busway comprising a plurality of busway segments arranged end-to-end and electrically interconnected with one another via one or more stack joint packs positioned between longitudinally adjacent busway segments;
• wherein each busway segment comprises a segment housing containing electrical buses;
• wherein each busway segment is configured to mount one or more mechanical joint blocks configured to mechanically couple at least one additional busway to form a stacked configuration of busways;
• and
• wherein the busway power distribution system is configured to be expanded by mechanically coupling the at least one additional busway to the busway using the one or more mechanical joint blocks.
