Abstract
In a fuel cell system, fuel cell stacks are connected in series between a plurality of power generation units, and the fuel cell system includes a start-up control unit. When start-up of the system is requested, the start-up control unit supplies fuel gas and oxidant gas to each of the plurality of fuel cell stacks and burns the fuel gas and the oxidant gas in a combustion unit to start a warm-up operation of the plurality of fuel cell stacks, and when all of the plurality of fuel cell stacks are in a power generatable state, the start-up control unit starts current sweep to start power generation of the plurality of fuel cell stacks.
Claims13
A fuel cell system comprising a plurality of power generation units each of which includes one or more fuel cell stacks that generate power by a reaction between fuel gas and oxidant gas, a combustion unit that burns mixed gas of residual fuel gas and residual oxidant gas from the fuel cell stack, a heat insulating case that houses the fuel cell stack and the combustion unit, a fuel supply system that supplies the fuel gas to the fuel cell stack, and an oxidant gas supply system that supplies the oxidant gas to the fuel cell stack, in which fuel cell stacks are connected in series between the plurality of power generation units, the fuel cell system comprising:
- a start-up control unit that, when start-up of the system is requested, supplies the fuel gas and the oxidant gas to each of the plurality of fuel cell stacks and burns the fuel gas and the oxidant gas in the combustion unit to start a warm-up operation of the plurality of fuel cell stacks, and when all of the plurality of fuel cell stacks are in a power generatable state, that starts current sweep to start power generation of the plurality of fuel cell stacks.
