Battery cell capable of detecting electrolyte leakage

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a battery cell capable of detecting electrolyte leakage, including: an electrode assembly; an electrolyte; a case 100 comprising a receptor 110 accommodating the electrode assembly and the electrolyte, and a sealing portion 120 at an edge the receptor 110 and sealing the receptor 110 with the electrode assembly and the electrolyte therein; and a leakage sensor 200 coupled to and at the sealing portion 120 configured to detect the electrolyte leaking from the case 100. The leakage sensor 200 includes a conductor 220, at least a portion of the conductor 220 adjacent to and extending along an edge of the sealing portion 120. At least one of resistance, current and voltage of the electric circuit is configured change when leaked electrolyte contacts the conductor 220.
