Abstract
A filtration system is used with a pipe repair system, such as a cured-in-place pipe lining system. Before, during, and/or after the repair of the pipe with the pipe lining system, air from inside the pipe is directed into a filtration system. The filtration system removes contaminants, such as VOCs and other harmful gases, particles, and the like, with a filter, and then the filtered air is exhausted from the system. The filter can be a carbon filter or other filter that can remove harmful or hazardous materials and particles from the air prior to exhaust. The air is also sensed to acquire information, such as temperature, pressure, composition, flow, or the like.
Claims20
A method for repairing a pipe system comprising a main pipe and at least one lateral pipe extending from the main pipe, the method comprising:
- first, inspecting and surveying the pipe system to measure the main pipe;
- next, installing a cleanout to provide access to the pipe system, said cleanout extending from one of the at least one lateral pipes to an area external of the pipe system;
- after the cleanout has been installed, positioning a plug in the lateral pipe;
- after the plug has been positioned, repairing the main pipe using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP);
- reinstating access to the at least one lateral pipe via the repaired main pipe;
- and
- exhausting VOCs from the repaired main pipe.
A method of repairing a lateral pipe of a pipe system, wherein the lateral pipe extends from a main pipe, the method comprising:
- first, inspecting and surveying the lateral pipe;
- next, installing a cleanout to provide access to the lateral pipe;
- next, positioning a plug in the lateral pipe upstream of the cleanout;
- after the plug has been positioned, cleaning the lateral pipe;
- repairing the lateral pipe via a lateral liner and CIPP process;
- and
- exhausting VOCs from the repaired lateral pipe via the cleanout.
A method for repairing a pipe system comprising a main pipe and at least one lateral pipe extending from the main pipe, the method comprising:
- first, inspecting and surveying the pipe system to measure the main pipe and at least one lateral pipe;
- next, installing a cleanout to provide access to the pipe system, said cleanout extending from the lateral pipe to an area external of the pipe system;
- after the cleanout has been installed, positioning a plug in a lateral pipe;
- after the plug has been positioned, repairing the main pipe using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP);
- after the main pipe has been repaired, repairing the at least one lateral pipe using CIPP;
- and
- exhausting air, steam, and/or any VOCs or other harmful or hazardous emissions from the repaired pipes.
