The invention relates to a method for producing fiber composite materials comprising a thermoplastic molding composition A and at least one layer of reinforcing fibers B. The thermoplastic molding composition A is embedded into the at least one layer of reinforcing fibers B as a matrix, wherein the embedding is realized by moving the molding composition relative to the reinforcing fibers B within a consolidating step, in which the reinforcing fibers B remain immobile except for a one-dimensional production advancing movement, the thermoplastic molding composition A has at least one chemically reactive functionality, and the surface of the reinforcing fibers B is treated with a sizing, and the concentration of functional groups for the chemically reactive functionalities of the molding composition A is at least 0.3 mol %.
